Project Overview
This project headed by Rail Projects Victoria, which is part of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA). This project is a part of the Regional Rail Revival program. The Victorian and Australian Government have invested over $4 billion to deliver the infrastructure necessary to run more reliable and frequent train services for regional Victorians.
The improvements include duplicating tracks, extending the Morwell crossing loop, upgrading level crossings and signalling, adding second platforms at three stations along the line and reactivating the second platform at Traralgon.
The completion of works is expected late 2024.
