Project Overview
The largest transport infrastructure project in Northern-Victoria, the Echuca-Moama Bridge Project was delivered across 4 stages. Two new bridges were constructed over the Campaspe River, one for traffic and one with a separate walking and cycling bridge alongside. This will help ease traffic congestion and make it quicker and easier for road users to travel across the Campaspe and Murray rivers.
The project included upgrading new intersections, along with new service roads, 4.9km shared walking / cycling paths, two new flood relief bridges, several Fauna crossings.
The new Murray River bridge was opened to the public on April 10th, 2022 and will be known as Dhungala Bridge. The new Campaspe River bridge will be called Yakoa Bridge. These are the respective names in Yorta Yorta language for the Murray and Campaspe rivers. These new names align with the essential themes of nature and connection.
Project Scope
MBB had engaged a Project Engineer to assist in the delivery team to construct bridge structures includes pile caps, piers, crossheads, precast super tee, crane hardstands, beams installation and bridge decks.
